About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Aircraft Sheet Metal Worker to join their esteemed maintenance facility in Plymouth . This role is critical for maintaining the structural integrity of aircraft by fabricating, fitting, and repairing sheet metal components. You will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, from routine repairs to fabricating custom parts, utilizing a range of metals and alloys. The ideal candidate will have excellent craftsmanship, a meticulous attention to detail, and a deep understanding of aviation standards, contributing to the safe and efficient operation of aircraft in the aerospace sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate, form, and assemble sheet metal components for aircraft structures, according to technical drawings and specifications.
• Perform repairs to damaged aircraft skins, spars, ribs, and other structural components.
• Utilize a variety of tools, including shears, brakes, punches, drills, and riveting equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals to guide fabrication and repair processes.
• Conduct quality checks on fabricated and repaired parts to ensure compliance with airworthiness standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and other maintenance technicians to address structural issues and ensure timely completion of repairs at our Plymouth facility.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Aircraft Sheet Metal Worker or in a similar fabrication role.
• Proficiency in working with various aircraft-grade metals, including aluminum alloys and stainless steel.
• Skilled in using sheet metal fabrication tools and machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and repair schemes.
• Strong understanding of aviation safety regulations and quality standards.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship in the aviation industry.
