About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Aircraft Stress Engineer to join their structural analysis team in Derby . This role is crucial for ensuring the structural integrity and safety of aircraft under various operational loads. You will perform detailed stress analysis, fatigue life assessment, and validation of aircraft structures and components. Working in Derby , you will collaborate with design and manufacturing teams, utilizing advanced analytical techniques to support the development and certification of aircraft.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform stress analysis on aircraft structures and components using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software.
- Conduct fatigue and fracture mechanics analysis to assess the durability and lifespan of aircraft parts.
- Validate analytical results through correlation with test data and experimental results.
- Collaborate with design engineers to optimize structures for weight reduction and structural efficiency.
- Prepare technical reports documenting analysis methods, results, and recommendations for certification purposes.
Requirements
- Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline with a specialization in structures.
- Proven experience as an Aircraft Stress Engineer or in structural analysis within the aerospace industry.
- Proficiency with FEA software packages (e.g., NASTRAN, Abaqus, ANSYS).
- Strong understanding of mechanics of materials, structural dynamics, and aerospace materials.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data.
