About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Stress Engineer to join their innovative team in Plymouth . This hybrid role focuses on analyzing the structural integrity and load-bearing capabilities of aircraft components and airframes. You will perform complex simulations and calculations to ensure that designs meet stringent safety and performance standards under various operating conditions. Working collaboratively on-site and remotely, you will be a key contributor to the safety and efficiency of our aircraft designs, ensuring they withstand the rigors of flight.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct structural analysis and stress calculations for aircraft components and assemblies using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software.
- Validate analytical results through testing and experimental methods.
- Ensure that designs comply with all relevant aerospace structural regulations and certification requirements.
- Collaborate with design engineers to optimize structures for weight reduction while maintaining strength and durability.
- Prepare detailed technical reports documenting analysis methods, results, and recommendations.
- Participate in design reviews and provide expert input on structural integrity and performance.
Requirements
- Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on structural analysis.
- Significant experience (5+ years) as a Stress Engineer or Structural Analyst in the aerospace industry.
- Proficiency in FEA software such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, or ABAQUS.
- Strong understanding of material properties, mechanics of materials, and structural dynamics.
- Knowledge of aircraft structures and aerospace design principles.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
