About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Aircraft Structures Engineer to join their vital engineering team in Portsmouth . This role is central to ensuring the integrity, safety, and performance of aircraft structures through expert analysis, design, and testing. You will work on a variety of aircraft programs, applying advanced engineering principles to solve complex structural challenges. Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and stress calculations for aircraft components and assemblies using FEA software.
- Design and develop modifications and repairs for aircraft structures, ensuring compliance with airworthiness directives.
- Conduct material selection and component testing to validate structural integrity and performance.
- Interpret and apply aerospace structural standards (e.g., FAR Part 25, EASA CS-25).
- Collaborate with manufacturing and maintenance teams to provide technical support for structural issues.
- Document design, analysis, and testing results in comprehensive engineering reports.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Significant experience (5+ years) in aircraft structures design and analysis.
- Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software (e.g., NASTRAN, ANSYS).
- Strong understanding of composite materials, metallic structures, and fatigue analysis.
- Experience with aerospace design standards and certification processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in engineering design.
