About the Role
Our client, a prominent player in the aviation manufacturing sector, is seeking a dedicated Aircraft Structures Engineer to join their team in Leeds . This role involves the design, analysis, and testing of aircraft structural components, ensuring they meet stringent safety and performance requirements. You will work on a variety of exciting projects, contributing to the integrity and efficiency of aircraft airframes. The position requires a strong analytical mindset, proficiency in structural analysis software, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards in aerospace engineering. Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design calculations for aircraft components using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software.
- Develop and validate structural designs, ensuring compliance with airworthiness regulations and customer specifications.
- Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports for structural modifications and repairs.
- Conduct stress analysis, fatigue analysis, and damage tolerance assessments for aircraft structures .
- Collaborate with manufacturing and quality assurance teams to ensure successful implementation of designs.
- Participate in testing activities, including component testing and full-scale structural testing, to validate designs.
Requirements
- Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering with a specialization in structures.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in structural analysis and design within the aerospace industry .
- Proficiency with FEA software such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of materials science, mechanics of materials, and stress analysis principles.
- Experience with CAD software and creating engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with airworthiness certification processes and regulatory requirements (e.g., EASA, FAA).
