About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Aircraft Structures Engineer to join their advanced engineering team in Nottingham . You will be responsible for the design, analysis, and testing of aircraft structural components, ensuring they meet stringent safety, performance, and regulatory requirements. This role involves working with cutting-edge materials and technologies, utilizing advanced simulation tools to validate structural integrity under various load conditions. You will play a crucial part in the development and certification of new aircraft designs, contributing to the reliability and safety of modern aviation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop aircraft structural components, considering material properties, loads, and manufacturing constraints.
- Perform structural analysis using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software to predict behaviour under stress.
- Conduct static and dynamic testing of structural components and assemblies.
- Ensure compliance with airworthiness regulations and standards (e.g., EASA, FAR).
- Collaborate with manufacturing and stress teams to optimize designs for production and performance.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, calculations, and documentation for certification purposes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in aircraft structural design and analysis.
- Proficiency with FEA software (e.g., ANSYS, NASTRAN) and CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of material science, mechanics of materials, and structural dynamics.
- Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and industry standards.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
