About the Role
Our client is seeking a proficient Aircraft Structures Engineer to join their dedicated engineering team in Liverpool . This role is integral to the design, analysis, and testing of aircraft structural components, ensuring they meet stringent safety and performance standards. You will collaborate with a team of experienced engineers on innovative projects, contributing to the integrity and reliability of aircraft airframes. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in structural mechanics and a keen eye for detail, crucial for success in this demanding field.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and stress calculations for aircraft components using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software.
- Design and develop new structural components and modifications to existing airframes, adhering to aerospace standards.
- Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
- Conduct and oversee structural testing, including static and fatigue testing, to validate designs.
- Investigate structural failures or damage, providing detailed reports and recommending repair solutions.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and maintenance teams to ensure seamless implementation of structural designs and repairs.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in materials science and structural engineering techniques.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as an Aircraft Structures Engineer or in a similar role focused on structural integrity.
- Proficiency in structural analysis tools such as NASTRAN, ANSYS, or similar FEA software.
- Solid understanding of aerospace materials, composite structures, and metallic structures.
- Knowledge of aircraft certification requirements related to structures is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong technical communication skills.
