About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Aircraft Structures Engineer to join their team in Sheffield . This role involves the design, analysis, and testing of aircraft structural components, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, performance, and efficiency. You will work on critical projects within the aviation industry, collaborating with a team of experienced engineers to develop innovative and reliable structural solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop aircraft structural components and assemblies, considering factors like weight, strength, and cost.
- Perform structural analysis using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software to assess component behavior under various loads.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure the producibility of designed structures.
- Participate in the testing of structural components and validate analysis results.
- Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, specifications, and drawings.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant aerospace industry standards and regulations for structural integrity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft structures design and analysis.
- Proficiency in FEA tools such as NASTRAN, Abaqus, or similar.
- Knowledge of aerospace materials (e.g., aluminium alloys, composites) and their properties.
- Understanding of fatigue, fracture mechanics, and damage tolerance principles.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
