About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Aircraft Structures Technician to join their maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility in Sunderland . This role is fundamental to ensuring the structural integrity and airworthiness of aircraft. You will perform a variety of tasks related to the inspection, repair, and modification of aircraft airframes, focusing on maintaining the highest safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of metal and composite structures, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to excellence in a demanding operational environment based in Sunderland .
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect aircraft structures for damage, corrosion, and fatigue using visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
- Perform repairs and modifications to aircraft structures, including patching, riveting, and fabricating components.
- Work with a variety of materials, including aluminum alloys, composites, and titanium.
- Interpret structural repair manuals, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Ensure all work performed complies with aviation regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of all inspection, repair, and modification activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Aircraft Structures Technician or similar role in aviation maintenance.
- Solid understanding of aircraft structures, materials, and repair techniques.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment for structural repair.
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical documentation, blueprints, and schematics.
- Experience with NDT methods is highly desirable.
