About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and hands-on Aircraft Structures Technician to join their maintenance facility in Portsmouth . This role is fundamental to ensuring the structural integrity and airworthiness of aircraft. You will be responsible for performing a wide range of structural repairs, modifications, and inspections according to detailed specifications and regulatory requirements. Working as part of a dedicated engineering team, you will contribute directly to the safety and operational capability of the fleet, utilizing your technical expertise in a demanding aviation environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural inspections to identify damage, corrosion, or fatigue in aircraft components.
- Execute repairs on aircraft structures, including metal and composite materials, using approved techniques.
- Fabricate and install new structural parts and modifications as per engineering drawings and work orders.
- Utilize precision measuring equipment to ensure repairs meet strict tolerances.
- Document all repair work performed, ensuring accuracy and completeness for traceability.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company procedures during maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to resolve structural issues effectively.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Aircraft Structures Technician or similar role.
- Strong practical skills in sheet metal work, composite repair, and structural assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and maintenance manuals.
- Familiarity with aviation industry standards and regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Must be able to work effectively within a team and possess good manual dexterity.
