About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Structures Technician to join their team in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, UK . This role involves performing repairs, modifications, and routine checks on the airframe structures of various aircraft. You will be instrumental in maintaining the structural integrity and airworthiness of the aircraft, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and manufacturer specifications. Working in a collaborative environment, you will contribute to the overall safety and operational readiness of the fleet.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute structural repairs and modifications on aircraft airframes according to approved technical data and engineering instructions.
• Perform detailed inspections of aircraft structures, identifying cracks, corrosion, delamination, or other damage.
• Utilize precision measuring tools to assess structural integrity and ensure compliance with tolerances.
• Fabricate and fit structural components using various materials such as aluminum alloys, composites, and steel.
• Interpret structural repair manuals, engineering drawings, and repair schemes.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all work performed and materials used.

Requirements

• Significant experience as an Aircraft Structures Technician or similar role within the aviation MRO sector.
• Proficiency in working with aircraft structural materials including metals and composites.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication, riveting techniques, and composite repair methods.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, technical manuals, and repair schemes.
• Possession of relevant trade qualifications or certifications in aircraft structures.
• Excellent hand-skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.
