Our client is looking for a skilled Aircraft Structures Technician to contribute to their aircraft maintenance and repair operations, supporting roles across various UK locations with a focus in Leeds . This position involves the repair, modification, and maintenance of aircraft airframe structures, ensuring integrity and safety. You will work with a variety of materials and techniques to restore aircraft to operational standards. Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural repairs and modifications on aircraft airframes, including composite and metal structures.
- Interpret structural repair manuals, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
- Conduct visual inspections and use non-destructive testing (NDT) methods where applicable.
- Fabricate and fit structural components according to approved repair schemes.
- Ensure all structural work meets stringent aviation safety and quality standards.
- Document all repair actions and materials used accurately.
Requirements
- Significant experience in aircraft structural repair or a closely related field (e.g., heavy fabrication, aerospace structures).
- Proficiency in working with a variety of aircraft materials, including aluminum alloys, composites, and honeycomb structures.
- Experience with sheet metal work, riveting, and composite bonding techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and repair schemes.
- A strong commitment to safety protocols and quality workmanship.
- Relevant vocational training or certifications in aerospace structures or fabrication are advantageous.
