About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Aircraft Structures Technician to join their maintenance facility in Sunderland . You will be responsible for the inspection, repair, and modification of aircraft airframes and structural components, ensuring the highest levels of safety and airworthiness. This hands-on role requires meticulous attention to detail, proficiency in working with various aerospace materials, and a strong understanding of structural integrity principles. You will work as part of a highly collaborative team, contributing directly to the operational readiness of a diverse aircraft fleet and upholding the company's commitment to excellence in aviation maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and structural integrity checks on aircraft airframes and components.
- Conduct repairs and modifications to aircraft structures using approved techniques and materials (e.g., composite, aluminum).
- Interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and maintenance work cards accurately.
- Operate specialized tools and equipment for structural repair and testing.
- Document all maintenance and repair actions in accordance with company and regulatory procedures.
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to diagnose and resolve structural issues efficiently.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Aircraft Structures Technician or similar role in the aviation industry.
- Demonstrated ability to work with aircraft structural materials, including composites and metals.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding technical manuals, blueprints, and repair schemes.
- Experience with relevant tooling, including sheet metal tools, riveting equipment, and precision measurement devices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
