About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Aircraft Structures Technician to join their engineering team in Leeds . You will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and modification of aircraft airframes and structural components, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of quality and safety. This hands-on role requires precision, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining the structural integrity of aircraft, directly contributing to the safety and operational efficiency of the fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural repairs and modifications on various aircraft types, including sheet metal work, composite repairs, and riveting.
- Conduct thorough inspections of aircraft structures to identify damage, corrosion, or fatigue.
- Interpret and follow engineering drawings, technical manuals, and work instructions accurately.
- Utilize a range of hand and power tools, specialized equipment, and measuring devices.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and airworthiness directives.
- Document all repair activities and findings in the required maintenance logs and reports.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Aircraft Structures Technician or in a similar structural repair role.
- Proficiency in sheet metal fabrication, composite repair techniques, and riveting.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and maintenance manuals.
- Experience working with various aircraft materials, including aluminum alloys, composites, and titanium.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Relevant trade qualifications or certifications in aircraft structures are highly advantageous.
