About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Airfreight Business Development Manager to join a fast-growing international logistics business with an ambitious growth strategy.

This is a commercially focused role for someone with a strong freight forwarding background who enjoys winning new business, developing client relationships and building a sales pipeline from the ground up.

You will have the autonomy to identify new opportunities, engage prospective customers and develop long-term commercial relationships, working closely with an experienced leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and generate new business opportunities through proactive lead generation and cold calling.
• Build, manage and convert a strong sales pipeline.
• Develop new and existing customer relationships through face-to-face meetings, telephone and online communication.
• Understand customer requirements and develop effective logistics solutions to meet their needs.
• Present the company's freight forwarding and logistics services to prospective and existing clients.
• Work towards and exceed agreed sales and revenue targets.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a high level of customer service and successful delivery of solutions.
• Stay informed on market developments and identify opportunities for further growth.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• 3+ years' experience within freight forwarding, ideally with a strong airfreight background.
• Proven experience in new business development and winning new clients.
• A confident and professional telephone manner.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong commercial awareness with a tenacious, target-driven approach.
• The ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Good IT skills, including spreadsheet and CRM systems.
• A flexible approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
