Are you a passionate Maths Teacher looking to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people? Tradewind Recruitment is partnered with a fantastic Alternative Provision in Northamptonshire to recruit a dedicated Maths Teacher on a temp-to-perm basis. This role supports students who have struggled to thrive in mainstream education due to social, emotional and behavioural needs, anxiety, trauma or other barriers to learning. With small class sizes of approximately six students, you’ll have time to build meaningful relationships, adapt your teaching, and make a lasting impact on each learner’s educational journey.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons that inspire confidence and re-engage students with education. You will work alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team committed to helping every student achieve academically and personally.
The Role
- Deliver high-quality Maths lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.
- Plan, prepare and assess engaging lessons that meet individual learning needs.
- Teach classes of around six students, allowing for personalised support and intervention.
- Foster a positive, structured and nurturing classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, pastoral teams and senior leaders.
- Monitor student progress and contribute to individual learning plans.
- Promote resilience, confidence and a positive attitude towards learning.
- Uphold safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times.
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Maths at secondary level.
- Previous experience within an Alternative Provision, PRU, SEN school or working with students with SEMH, Autism or additional learning needs would be highly advantageous.
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with vulnerable young people.
- A patient, resilient and flexible approach to teaching.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
