Animal Technician
Location: Near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire | Fully On-site | Permanent
Talentmark is recruiting for an Animal Technician to join an established bioscience organisation supporting the pharmaceutical and pre-clinical research sector. This is a permanent opportunity within a professional, highly regulated scientific environment.
The Role
As an Animal Technician, you will play an important role in maintaining high standards of animal welfare, facility standards and day-to-day operations. You will work as part of an experienced team, following established procedures and relevant regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out daily animal care, husbandry, handling and welfare observations. Provide animals with appropriate environmental enrichment. Monitor and maintain animal rooms, equipment and environmental conditions. Maintain accurate facility records and stock information. Support the receipt and dispatch of goods in line with facility procedures. Assist with routine animal management activities, including weighing, counting, sexing and re-housing. Work in accordance with Home Office guidelines, SOPs and animal welfare requirements.Your Background: A Level 2 Diploma in Animal Management or at least GCSE (A-C) in English, Maths and a Science subject (ideally Biology) Previous experience in animal husbandry and routine animal handling (advantageous). Practical experience caring for animals in a work or voluntary capacity is essential. A genuine interest in animal care and a strong eye for detail.The Opportunity
