Animator - 2D Animation

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and creative 2D Animator to join their hybrid team in Stoke-on-Trent , contributing to captivating projects in the Arts & Entertainment sector. You will be responsible for bringing characters and stories to life through fluid and expressive animation. This role requires a strong artistic foundation and technical skill in 2D animation software, working collaboratively with directors and storyboard artists to achieve the desired visual narrative. The hybrid model allows for focused in-office collaboration and remote work flexibility, supporting a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Animate characters, props, and effects according to storyboards and animation direction.
• Collaborate with the art and storyboarding teams to develop character expressions and movements.
• Ensure animation quality, timing, and arcs meet the project's artistic and technical standards.
• Work efficiently within production pipelines and meet project deadlines.
• Incorporate feedback from supervisors and directors to refine animation sequences.
• Experiment with different animation styles and techniques to enhance visual storytelling.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a 2D Animator with a strong portfolio demonstrating character animation skills.
• Proficiency in industry-standard 2D animation software (e.g., Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe Animate).
• Solid understanding of animation principles, including timing, spacing, and weight.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, both in-office and remotely.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interpret and implement creative direction.
• Passion for storytelling and the Arts & Entertainment industry.
