What you'll be doing
As part of a small, highly skilled support team, you'll play a key role in maintaining the stability, performance and reliability of our banking applications.
You'll:
- Investigate and resolve application incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs.
- Lead and coordinate incident management activities, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution.
- Develop deep knowledge of our applications, databases, integrations and platform estate.
- Work closely with 3rd Line teams and external suppliers to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Provide technical support to clients and partners integrating with Zempler Bank services.
- Respond proactively to system alerts, identifying and mitigating service impacts.
- Support production deployments, change activities and post-release validation.
- Create and maintain runbooks, knowledge articles and support documentation.
- Drive service improvements, automation opportunities and operational efficiencies.
- Identify and elevate risks, SLA breaches and customer-impacting issues.
- Participate in an on-call rota supporting business-critical banking services.
What we're looking for
- Experience in an Application Support, Production Support or similar role.
- Experience supporting bespoke or custom-built applications.
- Strong SQL and relational database knowledge.
- Experience using PowerShell, SFTP and WinSCP.
- Ability to test and troubleshoot REST APIs and interpret application logs.
- Experience working with monitoring and observability tools such as Elastic, Site24x7 or API Metrics.
- Understanding of authentication and security protocols including OAuth, OpenID Connect and JWT.
- Experience using version control tools such as Git.
- Strong incident management and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical issues for non-technical audiences.
- A collaborative approach and passion for delivering great service.
Nice to have
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server environments.
- Experience within financial services or another regulated industry.
- ITIL knowledge or certification.
- Experience supporting external clients or technology partners.
- Exposure to payments, cards, online banking, mobile payments or Open Banking platforms.
- Experience operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
