The Opportunity
Are you an experienced Quality Manager or Quality & Compliance professional with a strong background in apprenticeships, Further Education, work-based learning or training?
This is an opportunity to step into a key interim position with a growing apprenticeship and training provider, taking ownership of quality assurance, compliance, Ofsted readiness and continuous improvement.
You’ll work closely with senior leaders, managers and delivery teams to identify risk, strengthen quality processes and drive improvements that support positive outcomes for apprentices and employers.

Quality, compliance, safeguarding and continuous improvement are central to the organisation’s approach, with a strong focus on maintaining effective systems and Ofsted inspection readiness.
The Role
As Interim Quality & Compliance Manager, you’ll provide leadership and professional challenge across the organisation’s quality and compliance activity.
Your responsibilities will include:

Lead Ofsted inspection readiness across apprenticeship and training provision.
*
Support and coordinate organisational activity during Ofsted inspection.
*
Carry out quality assurance reviews, audits and sampling across apprenticeship delivery.
*
Develop, implement and monitor Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs).
*
Support the production, review and ongoing development of Self-Assessment Reports (SARs).
*
Maintain robust, inspection-ready evidence across Accountancy and HR apprenticeship programmes.
*
Conduct monthly ESFA funding compliance audits, identifying risks and required actions.
*
Review learner files, compliance records and operational processes to ensure requirements are met.
*
Provide assurance around staff qualifications, DBS, safeguarding, Prevent and safer recruitment.
*
Analyse quality and performance data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
*
Coach and support managers and practitioners to improve quality, compliance and learner outcomes.
*
Monitor improvement actions and provide clear, evidence-based reporting to senior leadership.
*
Maintain appropriate risk registers, escalation processes and quality documentation.
The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for an experienced quality professional who can operate confidently across both strategic quality management and operational compliance.
You’ll ideally bring:

Significant experience within apprenticeships, FE, work-based learning or training provision.
*
Proven experience supporting or leading Ofsted inspections.
*
Strong understanding of the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework (EIF) and apprenticeship inspection methodology.
*
Detailed knowledge of ESFA funding rules, apprenticeship standards and compliance requirements.
*
Experience undertaking quality audits, sampling, reviews and compliance monitoring.
*
Proven experience developing and implementing QIPs and SARs.
*
Strong understanding of safeguarding, Prevent and safer recruitment requirements.
*
Excellent analytical, reporting and stakeholder management skills.
*
The confidence to provide constructive challenge while maintaining effective working relationships.
*
A highly organised, resilient and solutions-focused approach.
