Aquatics Centre Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and experienced Aquatics Centre Manager to oversee operations at their premier facility in Cardiff . This leadership role requires a strong focus on safety, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency within the aquatics environment. You will be responsible for managing staff, budgets, programming, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations. This is a key position for someone passionate about swimming, water safety, and community engagement in the Leisure & Sports sector, driving excellence in aquatic services.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the aquatics centre, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all users.
• Manage, train, and schedule lifeguards, swim instructors, and other aquatic staff.
• Develop and implement a diverse range of aquatics programs, including swimming lessons, fitness classes, and competitive events.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and emergency procedures, including regular audits and risk assessments.
• Manage the aquatics centre budget, controlling expenses and identifying opportunities for revenue generation.
• Maintain positive relationships with members, stakeholders, and community groups.

Requirements

• Previous experience in managing aquatic facilities or a similar leisure operations role.
• Relevant certifications such as RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of pool operations, water chemistry, and safety protocols.
• Demonstrated leadership and staff management skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Experience in developing and marketing aquatic programs and services.
