About the Role

Our client seeks an experienced and results-driven Arable Farm Operations Lead to manage large-scale arable farming operations in the vicinity of Leeds . This critical role involves overseeing all aspects of crop cultivation, from soil preparation and planting to harvesting and storage, with a strong emphasis on efficiency, sustainability, and profitability. You will lead a dedicated team, manage advanced farming machinery, and implement innovative agronomic practices. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise all field operations for arable crops, ensuring timely execution of planting, cultivation, and harvesting activities.
• Manage a team of farm workers, providing direction, training, and performance feedback to ensure high productivity and quality standards.
• Oversee the maintenance and operation of farm machinery and equipment, ensuring they are in optimal working condition and utilized efficiently.
• Implement and monitor best practices in soil health management , crop nutrition, and pest and disease control to maximize yield and quality.
• Maintain accurate operational records, including planting details, inputs used, yields achieved, and labor costs.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations within the agriculture and forestry sector.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing arable farm operations, with a strong understanding of large-scale crop production.
• Demonstrated expertise in agronomy, crop physiology, and modern farming techniques.
• Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively, fostering a safe and productive work environment.
• Proficiency with modern agricultural machinery, GPS technology, and farm management software.
• Strong understanding of health and safety protocols and environmental stewardship.
• A degree or diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field is essential.
• Must hold a valid UK driving license and be prepared to work extended hours during peak seasons in the Leeds area.
