Arboricultural Consultant

About the Role

Our client requires a qualified and experienced Arboricultural Consultant to join their environmental consultancy team based near Milton Keynes . This role involves providing expert advice on tree management, protection, and health for a variety of clients, including developers, local authorities, and private landowners. You will conduct site surveys, produce detailed reports, and contribute to planning applications, ensuring the conservation and appropriate management of trees within development and urban contexts. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who is passionate about trees and their role in the environment, working on diverse and impactful projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed tree condition surveys and risk assessments for a range of sites.
• Produce comprehensive arboricultural reports , impact assessments, and method statements.
• Provide expert advice on tree planting, pruning, maintenance, and long-term management strategies.
• Liaise with clients, planning authorities, and other consultants to ensure regulatory compliance and project success.
• Contribute to the development of tree management plans and conservation strategies.
• Stay abreast of current arboricultural research, best practices, and relevant legislation.

Requirements

• A professional qualification in Arboriculture or a related discipline (e.g., RFS, LANTRA).
• Significant experience in professional arboricultural practice, including consultancy.
• In-depth knowledge of tree species, pests, diseases, and their management.
• Proficiency in using GIS and other relevant software for site analysis and reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong report-writing abilities.
• A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel to various client sites across the region.
