About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Arboricultural Consultant to provide expert advice on tree management and health in Bristol, South West England . This role involves conducting detailed tree surveys, providing recommendations for preservation and care, and advising on the impact of development on trees. You will work closely with developers, local authorities, and property owners to ensure the sustainable management of urban and rural treescapes. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced arboriculturist to join a growing consultancy and contribute to important projects across the region, offering specialist knowledge in tree preservation and urban forestry.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive tree condition surveys and Tree Risk Assessments (TRAs) for various sites.
- Prepare Arboricultural Impact Assessments (AIAs) and Method Statements for development projects.
- Provide expert advice on tree health, disease diagnosis, and management strategies.
- Liaise with clients, planning authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with arboricultural best practices.
- Develop and implement long-term tree management plans for estates, parks, and public spaces.
- Advise on tree protection measures during construction and development activities.
Requirements
- Professional qualification in Arboriculture, Forestry, or a related discipline (e.g., RFS Diploma, LANTRA Professional Tree Inspection).
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in professional arboriculture, with a focus on consultancy.
- Thorough knowledge of tree species, tree pests and diseases , and arboricultural techniques.
- Proficiency in GIS software and arboricultural survey tools.
- Excellent report writing, communication, and client management skills.
