About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified Arboricultural Officer to manage and protect the tree stock within their managed areas around Belfast . This role is integral to maintaining the health, safety, and aesthetic value of urban and rural woodlands and street trees. You will be responsible for tree surveys, risk assessments, developing management plans, and overseeing tree works to ensure best practices in arboriculture are followed. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed tree surveys, inspections, and risk assessments across various sites.
• Develop and implement long-term arboricultural management plans and strategies.
• Oversee tree planting, pruning, and removal projects, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
• Provide expert advice on tree health, diseases, pests, and appropriate management interventions.
• Liaise with local authorities, contractors, and the public on arboricultural matters.
• Ensure all tree works are carried out safely and in accordance with relevant legislation and guidelines.

Requirements

• A qualification in Arboriculture, Forestry, or a closely related field.
• Proven experience in tree surveying, assessment, and management.
• In-depth knowledge of tree species, diseases, pests, and their treatment.
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation relevant to arboricultural operations.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and project management skills.
