About the Role

Our client is seeking a certified and skilled Arborist and Tree Care Specialist to join their team in the Leeds area. This role involves the assessment, care, and safe removal of trees, ensuring the health and safety of both the public and the arboreal environment. You will be responsible for providing expert advice on tree health, pruning techniques, and risk management, working on a variety of residential, commercial, and public sector projects. The successful candidate will demonstrate a deep passion for arboriculture, a commitment to safety, and the physical capability to perform demanding fieldwork. This is a vital role in maintaining the urban canopy and ensuring the longevity of valuable trees.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive tree risk assessments and provide expert recommendations for care and maintenance.
• Conduct pruning, shaping, and removal of trees using safe and efficient techniques, including climbing and aerial rescue.
• Implement tree planting and transplanting programs according to best arboreal practices.
• Diagnose and treat tree diseases and pest infestations, applying appropriate horticultural solutions.
• Operate and maintain specialized arborist equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and rigging gear.
• Educate clients and team members on proper tree care and health management.

Requirements

• Certified Arborist qualification (e.g., ISA Certified Arborist) is essential.
• Minimum of 4 years of practical experience in professional arboriculture.
• Proficiency in tree climbing, rigging, and advanced pruning techniques.
• Strong knowledge of tree species, pathology, and entomology relevant to the UK climate.
• Valid UK driving license and willingness to obtain relevant certifications (e.g., NPTC).
• Excellent physical fitness and ability to work at height in various weather conditions.
