Arborist and Tree Surgeon

About the Role

Our client requires a skilled and safety-conscious Arborist and Tree Surgeon to join their dedicated team operating in and around Leeds . This hands-on role involves the expert care, maintenance, and removal of trees in various settings, including residential, commercial, and public spaces. You will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and aesthetic quality of trees, working at heights and utilizing specialized equipment. This is a critical position for maintaining the urban canopy and ensuring public safety in the Leeds area.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform tree pruning, shaping, and thinning to promote tree health and structural integrity, adhering to best arboricultural practices.
• Safely conduct tree removals, including dismantling large trees in confined spaces or near structures.
• Identify tree species, diagnose diseases, pests, and structural defects, and recommend appropriate treatments.
• Operate and maintain a range of arboricultural equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lift devices.
• Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company procedures while working on site.

Requirements

• Certified Arborist qualification (e.g., RFS Certificate in Arboriculture, LANTRA Awards).
• Minimum of 3 years of practical experience as an Arborist or Tree Surgeon.
• Proficiency in climbing techniques and safe use of chainsaws and rigging equipment.
• Strong knowledge of tree biology, identification, and common arboricultural issues.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently, demonstrating excellent physical fitness and a commitment to safety.
