Arborist Team Leader

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Arborist Team Leader to join their esteemed forestry services team based in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is crucial for delivering high-quality tree care services, including pruning, felling, and general maintenance, across commercial and residential properties throughout Tyne and Wear . You will lead a small team, ensuring adherence to best practices in arboriculture and maintaining a safe working environment, while contributing to the preservation and enhancement of the local urban canopy and contributing to the team's reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of arborists in carrying out tree surveys, pruning, felling, and planting operations.
• Ensure all work is conducted safely and efficiently, adhering to industry standards and the company's health and safety policy.
• Operate and maintain specialist arboricultural equipment, including chainsaws, climbing gear, and chippers.
• Provide guidance and training to junior team members, fostering skill development and a safety-first culture.
• Liaise with clients to discuss work requirements, provide quotations, and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment used, and time spent on site.

Requirements

• Certified Arborist with a recognized qualification (e.g., NPTC).
• Proven experience leading a team in an arboricultural setting.
• Proficiency in tree climbing, rigging, and safe dismantling techniques.
• Strong knowledge of tree species, diseases, and health assessment.
• Valid driving license and the ability to operate associated vehicles and machinery.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
