About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Architectural Technician to support their busy practice based in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear . This role is crucial in translating architectural designs into precise technical drawings and documentation required for planning and construction. You will work closely with architects and project managers, contributing to the successful realization of diverse building projects. This hybrid role offers the chance to work within a collaborative team environment while benefiting from the flexibility of remote working days, contributing to projects that impact the local built environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed technical drawings, plans, elevations, and sections using CAD and BIM software .
- Assist architects in developing design information, specifications, and construction details.
- Ensure all technical documentation complies with relevant building regulations and standards.
- Conduct site surveys and measurements as required for design development.
- Coordinate with external consultants and contractors to integrate their information into project drawings.
- Prepare documentation for planning applications and building control submissions.
Requirements
- HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology or a related field.
- Proficiency in architectural CAD software such as AutoCAD and Revit .
- Experience in producing detailed construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Good understanding of UK building regulations and construction practices.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
