Architectural Technician

About the Role

Our client, an established architectural practice in Portsmouth , is seeking a diligent and skilled Architectural Technician to join their expanding team. You will be responsible for producing detailed technical drawings and specifications that form the basis of construction. This role requires a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building regulations, ensuring that designs are accurately translated into buildable solutions. You will work closely with architects and site teams to provide essential technical support throughout the project lifecycle, contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality architectural projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed technical drawings, plans, and sections using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Develop specifications for materials and construction methods.
• Ensure all technical documentation complies with current UK building regulations and standards.
• Liaise with contractors and consultants to resolve technical queries during the construction phase.
• Conduct site visits to verify design implementation and address on-site issues.

Requirements

• HND or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology or a related field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is essential.
• Solid understanding of UK building regulations and construction practices.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings and specifications.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a project team in Portsmouth .
