About the Role
Our client, a reputable architectural practice in Derby , Derbyshire, is seeking a skilled Architectural Technologist to join their team, focusing on projects within the education sector . This role is essential for translating complex design briefs into practical, buildable solutions for schools, colleges, and university buildings. You will be responsible for producing detailed technical drawings, specifications, and construction information, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Working within a collaborative environment, you will contribute to projects that significantly impact educational infrastructure, playing a key role in the successful delivery of these vital facilities in and around Derby .
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed technical drawings, construction information, and specifications using Revit and AutoCAD for educational facilities.
- Coordinate designs with structural engineers, MEP consultants, and other specialist advisors.
- Ensure all design documentation complies with UK building regulations, DfE guidelines, and other relevant standards.
- Assist in the preparation of planning applications and building control submissions.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure construction adheres to design intent.
- Liaise with project managers and contractors to resolve technical queries during the construction phase.
Requirements
- A HND/HNC or Degree in Architectural Technology or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Architectural Technologist , with specific experience in the education sector being highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is essential; BIM experience is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and relevant regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical documentation.
- Good communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with diverse project teams.
