About the Role
Our client, a well-established architectural practice in Derby , is looking for a dedicated Architectural Technologist to strengthen their technical design team. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between design and construction, ensuring that architectural visions are translated into accurate, buildable documentation. You will be responsible for producing detailed technical drawings, specifications, and coordinating with various consultants and contractors. This on-site position offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to diverse projects and develop your technical expertise within a supportive studio environment in Derbyshire.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed technical drawings, plans, elevations, and sections using CAD and BIM software.
- Assist in the development of tender documents, specifications, and schedules.
- Coordinate architectural designs with structural engineers, building services engineers, and other consultants.
- Ensure all technical documentation complies with current UK building regulations, standards, and legislation.
- Conduct site inspections and surveys to verify existing conditions and monitor construction progress.
- Provide technical support to the design and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- HND or Foundation Degree in Architectural Technology or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit essential.
- A solid understanding of UK building regulations, construction methods, and materials.
- Ability to produce accurate and detailed technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for an office-based role.
