Area Manager - Bicester CFC 7

Both behind the scenes within the warehouses and across the Front End of the customer experience, we now have an opportunity for an Area Manager to join the team. As an Area Manager at the Bicester Customer Fulfilment Centre, you will be crucial in leading, motivating, and supporting your operational team to maintain exceptional health and safety standards, drive people engagement, and ensure the delivery of key performance indicators (KPIs) in a dynamic, 24/7 environment. This role exists to foster a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and outstanding employee experience within your business unit. This position involves a 4-on, 4-off pattern of 12-hour shifts, with both day and night roles available. (Note: Exact shift patterns and start times will be confirmed during the recruitment process.) You will also be expected to

• Undertake tiered management/personal shopper tasks if needed.
• Stand/walk for extended periods.
• Lift objects weighing up to 30kg (periodically from shoulder height).
• Wear protective equipment.
• Train to use Mechanical Handling Equipment.
• Work in environments ranging from 30°C to -30°C.
• Support other sites from time to time.
• Work shifts, including weekends, in an operational 24/7 environment

The ideal Area Manager candidate must possess the following non-negotiables:

• Previous management experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Experience and knowledge of best practice Health & Safety ways of working.
• Strong verbal and written communication and numeracy skills, used to working with and interpreting large volumes of data.
• Strong performance management knowledge and practical experience of conducting disciplinary & grievance investigations.
• Working knowledge of computerised warehouse management systems and core operating reporting tools.

Desirable (in addition to minimum):

• Food Safety compliance knowledge.
• Experience of working in a 24/7 productivity-conscious operation.
• Mechanical Handling Equipment - Current qualifications/previous experience.
• Previous experience in a continuous improvement environment & demonstrable problem-solving skills.
• IOSH accreditation.
