Job Description
A field-based sales role covering the North of the UK, selling a market-leading range of vacuum handling and lifting systems into the wood, logistics, food and beverage, and general industrial sectors. You will inherit an established customer base and have full authority to develop new business across your territory.
THE PACKAGE
- Competitive base salary — dependent on experience.
- Monthly commission — based on invoiced sales and paid monthly in arrears, with realistic on-target earnings on top of base.
- Permanent, full-time — 37.5 hours per week, with the flexibility to manage your own diary around customer needs.
- Annual holiday entitlement plus all statutory bank holidays.
- Genuine autonomy — you own the territory, the pipeline and the customer relationships within it.
- Full technical and marketing support — engineering colleagues to build proposals with you, and marketing support for lead generation and exhibitions.
THE ROLE
- Win new customers and grow existing accounts across the territory, with a focus on the wood, logistics, food and beverage, and general industrial sectors.
- Manage projects from first enquiry through to delivery — site and telephone meetings, technical advice, product trials, proposal and close.
- Price and negotiate within agreed policy, with due regard to cost and contribution margin.
- Grow service activity as a route to further sales.
ABOUT YOU
- Proven sales experience with vacuum systems and/or crane and lifting equipment, and a solid grasp of how they are applied across different industries.
- Comfortable selling technically — or the aptitude to get there quickly.
- A strong closer with a track record of hitting and beating targets.
- Confident communicating at every level, from shop floor to boardroom.
- Honest, accurate pipeline management — flagging early where a deal needs support or should be written off.
- Sound commercial judgement, including knowing when a customer represents a risk and escalating it.
- Self-motivated and organised, with the discipline that comes with running your own territory.
