About the Role
Our client is seeking a creative and inspiring Art and Design Teacher to join a vibrant faculty at a secondary school located in Nottingham . This role is dedicated to nurturing students' artistic talents and fostering their understanding and appreciation of various art forms and design principles. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons across key stages, encouraging creative exploration, critical thinking, and technical skill development. We are looking for an educator passionate about visual arts and design, committed to inspiring the next generation of artists and designers.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver dynamic and imaginative Art and Design lessons for secondary school students.
- Teach a range of disciplines, including drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art, and graphic design.
- Assess student work, providing constructive feedback to support their artistic development and understanding.
- Manage classroom resources and studio spaces effectively, ensuring a safe and inspiring creative environment.
- Encourage students to explore diverse artistic styles, develop their unique creative voices, and understand art history and theory.
- Collaborate with other members of the faculty and contribute to school events and exhibitions in Nottingham .
Requirements
- A degree in Fine Art , Design , or a related subject area.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Art and Design at the secondary school level.
- A strong portfolio showcasing personal artistic practice and a broad knowledge of art and design history and contemporary practice.
- Excellent creative, communication, and interpersonal skills.
