Art and Design Teacher

About the Role

Our client is seeking a creative and inspiring Art and Design Teacher to join a vibrant faculty at a secondary school in Sheffield . This role involves nurturing students' artistic talents and fostering their creative expression across a range of mediums. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that explore diverse art forms, develop technical skills, and encourage critical thinking about art and design. The successful candidate will contribute to a dynamic curriculum, support students in achieving their best at GCSE and potentially A-Level, and become an integral part of a collaborative arts department dedicated to fostering creativity and imagination in all students.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Art and Design lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, exploring various artistic disciplines.
• Develop students' technical skills in drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art, and other mediums.
• Encourage critical analysis and understanding of art history and contemporary art practices.
• Assess student work effectively, providing constructive feedback to promote progress and development.
• Manage the art studio resources and materials, ensuring a safe and inspiring workspace.
• Organize and curate student exhibitions to showcase their work and achievements.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
• A degree in Fine Art, Art & Design, or a related creative field.
• Experience teaching Art and Design at the secondary level.
• Strong practical skills across a range of artistic mediums and a passion for art education.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
