About the Role
Our client is seeking a creative and inspiring Art Teacher to join the faculty of a secondary school located in Plymouth . This role is dedicated to nurturing students' artistic talent and fostering their appreciation for visual culture across various mediums. You will be responsible for planning and delivering stimulating art lessons, encouraging critical thinking, and providing constructive feedback to help students develop their skills and creativity. The ideal candidate will create an inclusive and engaging classroom atmosphere where students feel empowered to explore their artistic potential and express themselves confidently.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Art lessons to secondary school students.
- Teach a range of art techniques, materials, and historical/contemporary art concepts.
- Encourage creative expression, critical analysis, and experimentation in student work.
- Manage classroom resources and ensure a safe and inspiring studio environment.
- Assess student progress through practical work, portfolios, and written analysis.
- Organise and oversee art-related extracurricular activities and exhibitions.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Degree in Fine Art, Art Education, or a related discipline.
- Experience teaching Art at the secondary school level.
- Proficiency in a range of artistic mediums and techniques.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
