About the Role
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join their busy finance department in Cardiff . This role provides essential support in managing the day-to-day accounting operations of the company. You will be responsible for a range of tasks including ledger management, bank reconciliations, and assisting with management accounts preparation. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the sales and purchase ledgers, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, accruals, and prepayments.
- Process invoices, expenses, and credit card transactions, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Support the finance team with ad-hoc reporting and administrative tasks as required.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls.
Requirements
- AAT qualification or working towards a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA).
- Proven experience in an accounts assistant or bookkeeping role.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
