Job Description
Assistant Accountant
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join a well-established organisation based in Halifax on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This role is ideal for an ambitious finance professional who is looking to further develop their accounting experience within a supportive and collaborative finance team.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances Maintaining the fixed asset register Supporting month-end and year-end processes Preparing and posting journals, accruals and prepayments Assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities Supporting audit requirements and responding to information requests Processing and reconciling financial transactions Producing accurate financial reports and analysis for stakeholders Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and controls
About You
The successful candidate will:
Have previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and accuracy Have good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial systems Be able to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines Be studying towards AAT, ACCA, CIMA or ACA (desirable) Have strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments
