Assistant Civil Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive Assistant Civil Engineer to support their engineering team based in Bristol . This role provides an excellent foundation for an early-career engineer, offering exposure to diverse civil engineering projects and opportunities to develop key technical skills. You will work closely with senior engineers on design, analysis, and project coordination tasks, contributing to the successful delivery of infrastructure developments. The hybrid working model combines valuable in-office mentorship with remote flexibility, fostering a balanced and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of civil engineering infrastructure, including roads, drainage, and earthworks.
• Perform engineering calculations and analysis under the supervision of senior engineers.
• Prepare technical drawings, models, and documentation using CAD and other relevant software.
• Conduct site visits to observe construction progress and assist with site queries.
• Support project managers in tracking project progress, timelines, and deliverables.
• Contribute to technical reports, specifications, and other project-related documentation.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• 0-3 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably within a consulting or construction environment.
• Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and basic engineering principles.
• Strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Good written and verbal communication abilities.
• Enthusiasm for learning and contributing within a hybrid team structure.
