Job Description
Overview
Service Care Solutions is recruiting an experienced Assistant Finance Business Partner for a full‑time, long‑term contract in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. The role offers £25.63p per hour (Umbrella) and is a 12‑month assignment with hybrid working arrangements. It provides vital financial support and strategic insight to West Yorkshire Police.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop key links between finance and the commercial services directorate, districts, departments, and other directorates.
- Support the delivery of financial services to leadership teams, ensuring value for money and identifying efficiency opportunities.
- Assist with the preparation, coordination, and management of devolved and delegated budgets at district, department, force, regional, and national levels.
- Monitor and maximise the use of capital and revenue budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
- Contribute to efficiency planning by identifying savings, partnership opportunities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with audit systems, external funding exit strategies, and financial policies.
- Promote the values of West Yorkshire Police by behaving ethically, supporting diversity and inclusion, and treating colleagues and the community with respect.
Candidate Requirements
- AAT qualification or relevant professional finance qualification.
- Strong experience in budget control, financial planning, and forecasting at a senior level.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proven ability to prioritise workload and self‑motivate in a busy environment.
- Knowledge of Public Sector Accounting policies and procedures (desirable).
- Willingness and ability to travel for business purposes.
- Flexibility to work varied hours as required by the role.
