Assistant Financial Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated Assistant Financial Accountant to support their finance department based in Belfast . This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the financial reporting processes, working closely with the Financial Accountant and the wider finance team. You will gain exposure to a broad range of accounting functions, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and assisting with month-end close procedures. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
• Support the management of the general ledger, ensuring accurate postings.
• Contribute to the month-end and year-end close processes.
• Assist with the preparation of audit files and provide support during audits.
• Help maintain and improve financial controls and procedures.

Requirements

• Relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or actively studying towards an accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Previous experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably in financial accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
