About the Role
Our client, a dynamic and innovative technology firm headquartered in Manchester , is looking for a proactive Assistant Financial Controller to strengthen their finance department. This role is essential for supporting the Financial Controller in managing the company's financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and contributing to strategic financial initiatives. The position is designed to offer significant exposure to all facets of financial management, including statutory reporting, tax, and internal controls. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Financial Controller in preparing accurate and timely statutory financial statements.
- Support the management of accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing.
- Prepare VAT returns and assist with other tax compliance matters.
- Develop and maintain robust internal control systems and processes.
- Contribute to financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent qualification/experience.
- Experience in a financial control or accounting role, with a strong understanding of financial regulations.
- Knowledge of UK tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills are essential.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a remote setting.
