Assistant Headteacher - Pastoral Care

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and compassionate leader to serve as an Assistant Headteacher with a focus on Pastoral Care at a reputable secondary school in Liverpool . This senior leadership role is integral to fostering a supportive and inclusive school environment where every student feels valued and has access to the resources they need to thrive both academically and personally. You will lead on student well-being, safeguarding, and behaviour management, working closely with staff, parents, and external agencies. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the school's pastoral care system , including student well-being, safeguarding, and behaviour policies.
• Ensure the safety and welfare of all students, acting as a designated safeguarding lead when required.
• Provide guidance and support to Heads of Year and form tutors, fostering a cohesive pastoral team.
• Develop and implement strategies to promote positive student behaviour and emotional resilience.
• Liaise with parents, external agencies, and support services to address individual student needs.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Significant experience in a leadership role within a secondary school setting.
• In-depth knowledge of safeguarding procedures , child protection, and pastoral care best practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
