A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Assistant Mechanical Estimator to join a well-established and growing building services contractor. Working closely with an experienced estimating team, you'll receive hands-on training and mentorship, giving you the opportunity to develop your technical knowledge and build a long-term career within the business.

This role would suit someone with 1-2 years' experience in mechanical estimating who is looking to take the next step and join a company that genuinely invests in its people. With a strong project pipeline, excellent staff retention and clear progression opportunities, this is an ideal environment to continue your professional development. Following a successful probation period, hybrid working is available with one day per week working from home.

The Role

Assisting with the preparation of mechanical estimates and tender submissions Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations Supporting senior estimators with cost planning and bid preparation Attending internal tender review meetings Assisting with value engineering and cost-saving exercises Maintaining accurate estimating records and databases Liaising with project, commercial and pre-construction teams throughout the tender process You'll Also Have 1-2 years' experience within a Mechanical Estimating role Experience working on mechanical building services or construction projects A basic understanding of HVAC, pipework, public health and mechanical installations Strong numerical and analytical skills Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment A full UK driving licence would be advantageous What's On Offer Structured training and ongoing development Mentorship from a highly experienced estimating team Clear career progression opportunities Hybrid working available following probation (1 day per week from home) Long-term stable career within a growing business Exposure to a wide variety of mechanical building services projects Supportive and collaborative working environment This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Mechanical Estimator looking to develop their career within a successful and expanding building services contractor where training, progression and long-term career prospects are readily available.
