Assistant Store Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Assistant Store Manager to support the leadership team in their busy Reading store. This role is integral to the successful operation of the store, focusing on driving sales, ensuring excellent customer service, and supporting the management of the store team. You will gain valuable experience in retail management, deputising for the Store Manager and playing a key role in achieving store targets and maintaining high operational standards. Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations and achieving sales targets.
• Provide exceptional customer service, resolving issues and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Support the recruitment, training, and development of the store's sales team.
• Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and stock organisation.
• Manage stock control, including ordering, receiving, and inventory counts.
• Deputise for the Store Manager in their absence, ensuring seamless store operations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a retail supervisory or leadership role, such as a Senior Sales Associate or Team Leader.
• Demonstrated ability to drive sales and deliver outstanding customer experiences.
• Strong understanding of retail operations , including inventory management and visual merchandising.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer software.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and some evenings, in Reading .
