Location: London Hybrid (2-3 days per week onsite) Contract Length: Until 31st March 2027 (with potential extension) Day Rate: £351.76 - £595.29 (Umbrella) Start Date: ASAP

Our client, a prestigious organisation in the finance sector, is seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President for their Finance & Control Financial Reporting team. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a well-established and collaborative finance function that plays a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

As the Assistant Vice President, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

Leading and supporting monthly and quarterly closing processes, ensuring accurate recording of accruals and prepayments. Overseeing balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger corrections, ensuring proper classification of P&L and balance sheet items. Preparing and submitting quarterly Head Office reporting packages in compliance with JGAAP/IFRS. Driving the preparation of internal and external reports while coordinating across internal teams. Acting as a key contact during the annual external audit process, ensuring timely delivery of audit requirements. Collaborating with auditors, regulators, and stakeholders to enhance governance and reporting accuracy. Supporting management with detailed expense, headcount, and fixed asset analysis, delivering insights for decision-making. Identifying issues, proposing solutions, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency. Providing guidance and coaching to junior staff to strengthen team capability.Key Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess:

Qualified or part-qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Experience in finance, with strong exposure to financial and management reporting, preferably in a banking environment. Advanced Excel skills, with knowledge of Power BI or Power Query as a desirable asset. Oracle system experience. Strong IFRS knowledge and experience is essential Strong technical knowledge across period-end close, reconciliations, accruals, and fixed assets. Proven ability to analyse financial data, identify issues, and deliver effective solutions. Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills.
