Associate Director - Quantity Surveyor

A well-established, independent Chartered Quantity Surveying and Cost Consultancy practice, recognised as one of Scotland's largest, is looking to strengthen its senior team with an Associate Director.

With a long standing presence in the Scottish construction market, this is a business that has grown almost entirely through repeat instructions rather than tendering for one-off jobs. The client roster reads like a who's-who of international hospitality: multiple global hotel operators and brands, from five-star and boutique through to major mid-market chains, alongside a strong, parallel book of work in residential and affordable housing for some of the UK's largest housing associations and providers.

This is a practice that competes directly with, and regularly wins against, the national and international consultancies for instructions, while staying genuinely independent and partner-led. Teams are kept deliberately small and sector-focused, so an Associate Director here isn't managing at arm's length; you're on the client relationship and in the numbers.

The opportunity:

Take ownership of a portfolio of live instructions from feasibility through to final account, across a mix of hospitality and residential work, with genuine scope to influence how the practice's next chapter of growth is led. This firm promotes from within and is actively building out its senior leadership bench.

What they're looking for:

• MRICS (or working towards) with strong post-qualification experience in Quantity Surveying / Cost Consultancy
• A track record spanning full project lifecycles, ideally across more than one sector
• Someone who wants genuine ownership and client-facing responsibility, not just a title change
• Based in or willing to relocate to Glasgow or Edinburgh
