AV Technician
Location: Leeds City Centre
Salary: £26,500-£27,500 depending on experience
OTE: £31,000+ including overtime and bonus opportunities
Reports to: AV Manager
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support for all AV requirements requested by clients through the hotel events team. Offer technical advice and support to the venue's AV Manager. Set up and operate AV equipment to a consistently high professional standard. Ensure all equipment is installed neatly, safely and correctly. Maintain accurate stock checks of equipment stored on site. Carry out basic maintenance and repairs of venue-based equipment. Work closely with hotel operations staff to ensure rooms have the correct AV setup for each event. Operate events as required, providing professional technical support to clients. Assist the AV Manager with the supervision of freelance technicians working on our behalf. Provide AV technical support to other venues in the local area. Provide holiday and additional cover at other venues when required. Be flexible to travel and stay away from home occasionally. Maintain a professional, client-focused approach at all times.
You'll ideally have experience in a live events or AV environment, with practical knowledge of some or all of the following:
Audio and sound equipment Lighting Vision and presentation systems Rigging Set and staging Hotel conference and events environments
You'll also need:
Good hands-on technical knowledge. The ability to work independently while being a strong team player. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A professional, well-presented and client-facing approach. The confidence to take initiative and solve problems. Excellent attention to detail and pride in your work. A hard-working, enthusiastic and positive attitude. Flexibility to work overtime and at short notice when required. A full UK driving licence. Good computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Visio, Word and Outlook.
Working Hours & Benefits
Permanent, full-time position. Salary of £26,500-£27,500, depending on experience. Overtime and bonus opportunities, with OTE of £31,000+. Normal working hours are 08:00-17:00, with a one-hour lunch break. Frequent evening and weekend work will be required, with overtime or time off in lieu provided. Occasional travel and overnight stays may be required. Six-month probationary period. 23 days' annual leave, plus applicable bank holidays. Holiday year runs from 1 January to 31 December.
