Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a well-established Chartered Accountancy practice based in North London, which is looking to recruit an experienced Audit & Accounts Senior to join its team.
This is a varied opportunity for an experienced practice accountant who enjoys working with a diverse client base and is confident taking responsibility for accounts preparation, audit and associated tax work.
The firm works with a broad range of clients, from sole traders and owner-managed businesses through to medium-sized limited companies, as well as specialist clients including charities and solicitors.
The Role
Working closely with the Partners and wider team, you will be responsible for delivering a range of accounts, audit and tax services to the firm's clients.
Your key responsibilities as Audit & Accounts Senior will include:
- Preparing statutory and management accounts for a varied portfolio of clients.
- Assisting with and, where appropriate, taking responsibility for audit assignments.
- Working with clients ranging from sole traders and partnerships to medium-sized limited companies.
- Supporting accounts and audit work for charities and solicitor clients.
- Preparing and assisting with personal and business tax matters.
- Liaising directly with clients, Partners and Company Directors to obtain information and resolve queries.
- Ensuring work is completed accurately and within relevant deadlines.
- Assisting with VAT and payroll matters where required.
- Developing strong, long-term relationships with clients and providing a professional and responsive service.
- Supporting the wider team with ad hoc accounting and practice-related work.
The successful Audit & Accounts Senior will ideally have:
- Several years' experience working within a UK accountancy practice in a similar role.
- Strong experience in accounts preparation, including statutory and management accounts.
- Previous experience of audit assignments.
- Good working knowledge of personal and business taxation.
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with Partners, Company Directors and clients.
- Experience with IRIS, Excel, Sage, Xero and/or QuickBooks would be beneficial.
